We have a wonderful Jersey cow named Annie. We currently have a little more fresh, raw milk than we need, and we could offer a couple of families or individuals a regular supply of joyful Jersey juice.
We are not offering to sell fresh, raw, unprocessed milk for human consumption. Such sales are illegal in North Carolina, and our milk is labeled to comply with state regulations. If such regulations strike you as ridiculous in a state where almost anyone of majority age can buy firearms, a variety of poisons and explosives, raw meat from mostly untraceable sources, and tobacco–the number one killer of Americans, I’m told–then take comfort in the fact that we have the best politicians money can buy.
We are only interested in working with people willing to place a regular, weekly order of one or more jars. This is not a contract, and you can stop buying at any time, but we are not able to serve sporadic sales and still make a one cow operation break even. If you buy from us, you can meet Annie and observe us milking, bottling, and washing equipment anytime that is mutually convenient.
We sell in half gallon, wide-mouth canning jars capped with Ball brand, plastic storage lids. Bring your own jar(s) with plastic lid(s) or pay $3 deposit per jar/lid. We wash and sanitize every returned jar, but you should at least rinse before returning. We prefer to work with folks who live near Marion, but that is not a requirement.
Price is $6/half gallon jar. If you find the price objectionable, then you should probably acquire and milk your own cow.
My wife and I have a good facility for handling milk, and we are meticulous about sanitation and rapid chilling.
If you are reading this ad, then we still have milk to offer, but our supply is not large. Contact me any way you like, but do it soon if you’re interested.
Thanks for reading.
